Thursday the 27th July was the day that the Darebin City council came to visit Preston Seventh-day Adventist church with an interest in our faith and what we believed. This was an act of Holy providence with my humble church being selected from the vast array of other faiths in the local community. We were chosen to participate in this interfaith program. People would be visiting us from various backgrounds, cultures, faiths, including community service providers, politicians and the council.

A bus load of more than 36 souls were headed our way how exciting the thought, Preston would be providing lunch and I was asked to provide music. It warmed my heart to see Kevin Geelan the Resource Manager for Signs publishing present with our spirit filled literature being made available. When the bus rolled up, time just flew. It seemed like at one time we were welcoming them and then in the blink of a moment it was time to say goodbye.

The tour was very well received with the history of our faith and Preston Seventh-day Adventist church being presented by Pastor Vicram Panchal and Elder Bob Eales. A beautiful healthy lunch was prepared and served by the ladies of Preston, books were sold and gifts imparted as hymns resonated in the hearts of all present.

It is not often our church is inundated with people of such diverse backgrounds and although our time was short it was nice to get involved with the community at large. The visit concluded with a special little gift for our guests which consisted of the booklet, Your friends The Seventh-day Adventists, the DVD, Tell the world and a Gift from the Signs publishing to the City Council.

All glory to God for such a wonderful opportunity not only to share our faith, but to share Jesus and the Gospel of his tender love.
