God orchestrating the opportunities

When doing my book deliveries my custom is to always do them inside the person’s home. Visiting with people in the home further develops the relationship, it gives opportunities to pray with people, to help them spiritually and many times they will refer you to others in their family and friends that need your visit.

Today with one of my deliveries, God wanted me to minister not in the home but out on the footpath, just outside a large number of flats. As I was doing the delivery and talking with Simon, I noticed a lady in her late twenties walking on the footpath about 150 meters away coming towards us. I said to Simon, “I feel impressed that we need to pray for that lady. We don’t know her, we don’t know what challenges she is facing, but Jesus died for her, so let’s pray for her.” After the short prayer we continued talking as she walked past us and stepped up to the security gate at the front entrance to the flats.

Once again, I felt God’s Spirit prompting me and I called out, “Excuse me.” She turned around with a smile and then I said, “I have something for you. Can I please give you a special gift?” The Holy Spirit was moving on her heart and it was evident by the expression on her face. I told her a little about the book, The Desire of Ages and she graciously accepted it. “I will read this. I do a lot of reading. Thank-you.”

In the book, Christ’s Object Lessons page 373 we find the words, “From hour to hour in our varied life, opportunities to reach and save souls are opened to us. These opportunities are continually coming and going. God desires us to make the most of them.”

Thank-you God for orchestrating these opportunities to witness to the precious souls your Son Jesus died for. Help us always to be ready for them.
